I'm interested in this 1st Edition 4 color chalice on ebay, and was wondering if someone could identify the species. There's some other nice stuff too. If anyone has the species name for the zoas as well that would be nice. Here's a link to it:

The genus is Echinophyllia. The species is probably E. aspera.

Zoanthids aren't described to the species level, but the genus is Zoanthus.

What is your resource for this? I've found a couple websites, but nothing so detailed. Do you have a book?

Also, nice coral, but I'd go for the purple blue hornets!

Yeah, I mean it might be Aspera. I was thinking it might be Orpheensis perhaps???

I've memorized the scientific names for most of the corals and fish common to the industry. There are some good online resources - liveaquaria.com and wetwebmedia.com come to mind - and some good books such as those from Sprung, Calfo, et al.
