I just set up a 10g reef ready tank, custom stand, and 15 gallon sump. The tank has 1/2" drain and a 1/2" return. There is about 4' of head loss and no bends in the plumbing as it is straight up. I am basically looking for something really cheap that has minimum power (GPH) that will work and wont stress my return to much. I was thinking of using a Maxijet 1200, but I wasnt sure if the 4' head would kill it or not. Any advice is appreciated.

you cant be serious. a maxijet cant handle 6 feet of head yet alone 8.

i would look into the maxijet utility pumps. some with 400-500gph depending on the head.

+1 to the maxi-jet utility pumps

Oh and i like your setup, I always wanted something with a small display and like a sump double the size just for fun. tongue.gif
