My Maroon Clownfish has small indents missing at the edge of its tail...I've noticed this before, could it be because he's not being fed enough?

It kind of goes horizontally like in a see thru line..

Sounds like tail rot. Can you get a pic? Is it eating?

edit: what tank mates does he have?
rahorman
Sounds like it would be tail rot (not sure what that entails exactly)... it is eating when I feed them... tail mates :
McCoskers flasher wrasse
Fire Shrimp
Cleaner Shrimp
Tuxedo Urhcin
Different Snails

I noticed it before I added the wrasse...

Symptoms of fin rot

* The first signs of the disease are milky white areas appearing in the fish’s fins or tail, particularly around the edges.
* The fins develop a rather ragged appearance as the disease begins to eat the tissue.
* Eventually the disease eats all the clear fin membrane away, leaving just the fin rays.
* If the fin rot has affected the fish’s tail (also called tail rot), it may work its way through to the body of the fish.
* Secondary infections or diseases are common in advanced cases of fin rot, bringing new symptoms to the afflicted fish such as white cotton wool-like tufts or streaked patches of red.

Any of that ring true?

Your LFS should have some medication for fin rot. It's generally caused by a combonation of stress and poor water quality. Are all your parameters in check?
rahorman
Doesn't seem to have any of these symptoms...No milky white on any of the fins or tail

All my parameters are in check and I do a 10% WC once a week...maybe he's just stressed out? I have noticed it kind of comes, and has gotten better, but just checking now it def looks like its rotted away a little bit
Orphicdragon
I'm not certain what else it would be if the wrasse isn't picking on it.

Edit: Is he eating? How does the wrasse look? Fin rot is bacterial (not fungal) and will show up in the wrasse sooner or later.
rahorman
The wrasse looks fine...I also didn't do a fresh water dip on the Clown when I first introduced him into my tank...

My clown is slowly losing the fin "skin" from his dorsal fin. Eats like marathon runner and shows nothing but the healthiest attitude. I assume something is picking at it. The sixline will occasionally swim up like he's going to nip at the clown, but that's the only remotely aggressive behavoir I've seen. Gotta be someone though...
rahorman
Weird, maybe my wrasse is picking at him. I fed him a bunch yesterday, and today his tail is almost completely healed. Yesterday there were several horizontal lines missing...Could it be something to do with not being fed enough maybe?
