i want to use both of these products in my bc29..my question is if you are using these..can you still dose aa and stuff like that? If you are using these, do they remove any of the good stuff too?

chemipure is an ion exchange resin, and carbon. It will not remove ionic compounds in the water (calcium, mag, sodium, strontium, carbonate, etc..) purigen is a synthetic absorbant material which will remove dissolved organic compounds in your water until all its pores are full. You should be fine.

I suppose the purigen could remove the aa as well, because it claims to remove ''disolved organics''...what that means I dont know.
I've been dosing boyd's vitamins in my tank where I also run purigen and chemipure elite, but really haven't thought of testing my aa content of the water. Theoretically they could be easily converted into ammonia anyway. Really, I dont see a reason why one needs dissolved AA, thats why you feed! And the vitamins and such won't be removed by either.

I'm sorry, what's AA? Are you talking about dosing ascorbic acid (vitamin C)?

Thanks. I suspect that they will remove dissolved free amino acids (DFAA). What are the benefits to dosing amino acids? Sorry, if that is a dumb question.

Purigen and chemipure together can save the US economy!

You should still attend meetings and call your sponsor if you have a relapse. Chemi-Pure elite and or Purigen are not a supplement to AA
