J that tank is sooo sexy! 2 6' T5 fixtures would be sweet!

Thanks cbort!

I thought about T5's for this tank, well still am but would be 2x 6x39W Units. That being said, I am heavily leaning towards 2or3 x250W MH.

before you decide on a skimmer, check this one out

http://www.tbaquatics.com/shop/bubble-magu...kimmer-613.html

it works very well and i can hardly hear it working. its alot cheaper and gets the job done.
JDigital
Thanks for the link... Unfortunately it requires a water depth slightly deeper than I can provide in my shallow sump... which is about 8".

I think I will be going with the Octo Extreme 200... Right height, performs at 8", similar price. Heard some pretty good reviews

looking good i wish i had the money for a shallow tank they are the best

Couple Aquascape pics:

Might add some more infont of the rock by the overflow..

I'd rock 2 250Ws in LumenBright reflectors on this tank. The penetration a 250 gives is awesome, and the spread of a pair of LumenBrights should easily take care of the surface. Next question is ballast and globe choices, if you're going + actinic or not, etc I guess.

Looking nice, mate happydance.gif
JDigital
I was planning 3x Lumenmax Elite Reflectors, 3x 250W Galaxy Ballasts, 3x 250W Phoenix 14K or Ushio 20K.
n0rk
Phoenix 14s on Galaxys should look boss. The Elite reflectors I've not seen (we don't get them here) but I hear good things.

Looking forward to it, mate!

I actually canceled the order today... I've got the sump online and I'm not getting any micro-bubbles... So I told them to forget it... mad.gif

So if im getting this straight, youll have the skimmer and reactors and other such items in the 30 G and the extra 20 will be the fuge?
JDigital
Yup.. pretty much.. Fuge will prolly end up being a inline Frag tank instead..

A local reefer here offered up temporary use of his skimmer until I get mine ordered... Which is awesome.. Thanks again Kryptic!

Added 2 fish to the tank tonight... I replaced my Occelaris Clown that I lost while away for a christmas and brought home a tank raised True Perc. I thought they would be a BIT closer in size than they are though, not that it's a problem. The remaining occelaris and this new guy seem to be buddy-buddy already..

2nd addition was a McCoskers Flasher Wrasse... this one has me a bit nervous with regards to jumping... tempting fate with this purchase.. blink.gif

I'll try and get pics of both as soon as I can, the McCoskers' been in hiding since adding him... biggrin.gif
nanoreef-R
hows the skimmer working out so far?
JDigital
Thick and dark... biggrin.gif Airline is kinda loud though, so I shut it down at night..
JDigital
Took a couple pics today... Highlight a few of my encrusting montis and such..

"Pokerstar Monti"

"Superman Monti"

Green Slimer and Blue Tip A. Tenuis (I think):

I actually re-positioned that Tenuis today... it seemed to do better and had a brighter color up higher in the tank, so moved it up as high as possible (left of the Pokerstar).

And 6 new SPS frags:

Montipora Confusa:

Not really any updates and no lights yet. I've been out of commission for personal reasons.

I'd like to even just get 1 of my 3 lights just so I can get about 8 frags mounted that are sitting on my rack, but we'll have to see how things go. mellow.gif

Thanks skillz... Hopefully things turn around for me here personally and I can get back to giving the tank the attention it deserves (or requires). smile.gif
JDigital
Might as well throw a few coral pics up..

JDigital
And a lights out FTS... only lighting is from the ceiling light.

Thanks guys!

Anyways...

Couple new kids in town today... Thanks to Kevin (Red Coral) for these 2 beauties. Starting to fall farther and farther away from my original stocking list though. happy.gif Almost picked up a pair of Purple Firefish as well, but just wasn't in the cards (bank cards that is tongue.gif ).

Striped Bristletooth Tang.

and

Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse.

nanoreef-R
A stocking list is nearly impossible to keep. The LFS are good at that.
fewskillz
Nice looking fish. Stocking lists are meant to be broken!

Thanks guys... funny thing about those stocking lists! Argh.. next purchase maybe... happy.gif

Anyways,

Small temporary upgrade until I can get around to buying my lights... I got a temporary Hamilton 250W mh (on loan biggrin.gif ) tonight.. It is only a 10K bulb, but at least I can get some frags mounted and provide them with some better lighting.. I was forgetting what it was like to have a fully lit tank.. laugh.gif The end is actually more lit up than it appears in the pic.

nanoreef-R
Let. There. Be. Light. Finally!

Any update on the skimmer/pumps ?
Billdemart
Man I love the long, shallow, rimless tank look. Just phenomenal. I have to get one of those.
