J that tank is sooo sexy! 2 6' T5 fixtures would be sweet!
Thanks cbort!
I thought about T5's for this tank, well still am but would be 2x 6x39W Units. That being said, I am heavily leaning towards 2or3 x250W MH.

before you decide on a skimmer, check this one out
http://www.tbaquatics.com/shop/bubble-magu...kimmer-613.htmlit works very well and i can hardly hear it working. its alot cheaper and gets the job done.

Thanks for the link... Unfortunately it requires a water depth slightly deeper than I can provide in my shallow sump... which is about 8".
I think I will be going with the Octo Extreme 200... Right height, performs at 8", similar price. Heard some pretty good reviews

I'd rock 2 250Ws in LumenBright reflectors on this tank. The penetration a 250 gives is awesome, and the spread of a pair of LumenBrights should easily take care of the surface. Next question is ballast and globe choices, if you're going + actinic or not, etc I guess.
Looking nice, mate

Jan 3 2010, 09:39 PM
I was planning 3x Lumenmax Elite Reflectors, 3x 250W Galaxy Ballasts, 3x 250W Phoenix 14K or Ushio 20K.

Jan 3 2010, 10:19 PM
Phoenix 14s on Galaxys should look boss. The Elite reflectors I've not seen (we don't get them here) but I hear good things.
Looking forward to it, mate!

A local reefer here offered up temporary use of his skimmer until I get mine ordered... Which is awesome.. Thanks again Kryptic!
Added 2 fish to the tank tonight... I replaced my Occelaris Clown that I lost while away for a christmas and brought home a tank raised True Perc. I thought they would be a BIT closer in size than they are though, not that it's a problem. The remaining occelaris and this new guy seem to be buddy-buddy already..
2nd addition was a McCoskers Flasher Wrasse... this one has me a bit nervous with regards to jumping... tempting fate with this purchase..
I'll try and get pics of both as soon as I can, the McCoskers' been in hiding since adding him...

I actually re-positioned that Tenuis today... it seemed to do better and had a brighter color up higher in the tank, so moved it up as high as possible (left of the Pokerstar).

Not really any updates and no lights yet. I've been out of commission for personal reasons.
I'd like to even just get 1 of my 3 lights just so I can get about 8 frags mounted that are sitting on my rack, but we'll have to see how things go.

Couple new kids in town today... Thanks to Kevin (Red Coral) for these 2 beauties. Starting to fall farther and farther away from my original stocking list though.

Almost picked up a pair of Purple Firefish as well, but just wasn't in the cards (bank cards that is

).
Striped Bristletooth Tang.

and
Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse.

Anyways,
Small temporary upgrade until I can get around to buying my lights... I got a temporary Hamilton 250W mh (on loan

) tonight.. It is only a 10K bulb, but at least I can get some frags mounted and provide them with some better lighting.. I was forgetting what it was like to have a fully lit tank..

The end is actually more lit up than it appears in the pic.
