i notcied some aiptasia in my 34 gallon a week ago and 3 days ago i added 1 peppermint shrimp.
after two nights i found that three aiptasia that were near the base of the rockwork were gone but three higher up on the rockwork are still there. this morning i notcied that the peppermint had something green and fluorescent in its mouth. The only thing i have that it could be is my green bubble tip anemone and a bunch of hitchiker sponges. I need to get rid of my gbta anyways because it grew too large for my tank so i hope the peppermint hasnt developed a taste for anything thats non-anemone.
One thing for sure, the peppermint is eating something thats alive other than aiptasia and not only because it ran out of aiptasia to eat.

Are you positive that it is a peppermint and not a camelback? The shrimp look similar, and often they are sold incorrectly.
http://www.fish.com/item/camel-shrimp/LF703022/While not all peppermint's will eat aiptasia, it's not common for them to eat HEALTHY coral. Of course anything is possible. If you are really concerned about it feed him a pellet every other day.
im 100% sure its not a camel back...
and its not a red rock shrimp either...
the one and only reason i got it was for aiptasia control. i would much rather have other shrimp for decorative purposes.

Give it some more time (providing it's not munching coral) and see if he munches on the aiptasia. Mine took 3 weeks to decide to eat it but he ate every one of 'em after that.
I have always had mixed results with peppermints, some eat 'em, some refuse to even go near 'em.
Have you tried aiptasiaX?
i havent tried any chemical approches yet.. trying to save those for a last effort.
i did find a good way to remove aiptasia off rock in certain situations though..
i put a loose clump of chaeto (not too loose and not too tight) on top of 2 aiptasia that were on a piece of rock. after 1 day they had moved into the chaeto trying to get on top of the chaeto. I just tore out the pieces of chaeto that had the aiptasia on it. im not sure if this worked well yet as its only been about 6 days and maybe the aiptasia left some pieces of itself on the rock that will eventually grow into new ones? so far no signs of them on that rock and no new ones spreading that i can see.

Yeah as a general rule you don't want to rip them out because they spread like crazy.
Another non chemical option is to pull the rock out and scrape the rock. Take a chisel and scrape the thing right off into the trash
