Full Version: How far below water surface should top of rocks be?

Howdy.

How far below the top of the water should the rocks extend to? I've read you need to leave space for coral growth, but for the life of me I can't see how much vertical space.

Consider I have somewhere in the ballpark of MH 150W lighting.

I'd say at least 1/2 or 2/3rds up the water column. Not only will this leave room for corals but it looks pleasing to the eye.
