Hi,

Ive had my 6 Gal pico running for a while now but for some unknown reason (paramaters are all fine) Im having a minor hair algae outbreak. I have 4 hermit crabs (2 common, 1 red, 1 dwarf blue) but they dont seem to eat much of it. Any ideas for a good addidion to the CUC?

I had considered a turbo snail but Im concerned because the turbos in my 75 are always falling upside down and dying and I think the pico would be wiped out of that happened, especially as theres no skimmer.

I've had 2 turbos in my 8g and they haven't touched my HA, where's the algae located? Check to see if it is HA and not Bryopsis. A lot of people mistake Bryopsis for HA.

Its all over the tank in small clumps. Its definately hair algae.. Ive seen enough of it over the years unfortunately.

I remove as much as I can by hand but cant get it all and it grows pretty fast. The only reason I can think of for why its appeared is that I have been tweaking the colour temp from the LED lights so maybe this has caused it.

are you sure you got turbo snails and not astrea snails? Turbos can right themselves.. i just got 2 yesterday and they went right to work on the HA.

This is a turbo:

if they have a pointy cone-like shell.. that's not a turbo

bi-colored blennies are not pico fish.
