I have had this Peppy for around 5 months now. Very shy only comes out at night rarely saw her. She has a special little cave she lives in and seems happy enough.
I added a cleaner shrimp about 2 weeks ago. They sized each other up then proceeded to ignore one another. The cleaner has claimed the top half of the tank, and the peppy the bottom and there has been a quiet peace. Until yesterday. My chiton's came in (yaaaaaaaay John

) I put one chiton on a rock and go to grab the other one put the 2nd chiton down next to the...wait what? WTF? Where did the freakin Chiton go?! They move like an inch every day I know he didn't book it off the rock

I got the second chiton stuck down and go to search for the missing one. Look around the corner, and )(*&%$^#%$@@!! The peppermint picked the freakin' chiton up and RAN OFF with it. Then the peppermint and cleaner decided to scrap like trailer trash fightin' for the last Budweiser (I'm trailer trash, and am well acquainted with the "no thats MY beer" argument). Fortunately I made sure the cleaner shrimp was around the same size at the peppermint so no major damage was done.
Few questions here:
1. Why would a chiton make her get her telson all in a knot? I had one in there before and she never gave a rats butt.
2. How strong are peppermints? Chiton seems awful heavy for her to haul off with. WHy would she haul it into teh cleaner's territory?
3. They are getting along fine now. The chiton was never in either's home base as far as I can tell. Neither one cared about the second one I put in there. Any thoughts on why everybody got all cranky all the sudden?
4. They are well fed little boogers. Each get handed a pellet a day to eat, why the frenzy?
