So my acans on the floor of my 24nc were looking kinda crappy lately. Not very inflated, but eating, just overall not good. Frequent water tests show nothing, SG 1.026, 3-4 gallon water changes a week did nothing. This went on for about 2 weeks, until today when I was like 3 feet away from the tank. I saw him hover over one, eye ball it hard, and start going nuts nipping on it. I moved most of them into my other tank, but now I wonder whats next? Anyway to stop it? (doubtful) Im also thinking the fact that I stopped feeding everyday has something to do with it. I was worried about overfeeding everyday so I cut back. Any options out there?

Feed every day, and do water changes. Do you eat every day?

The speaker at my reef club meeting this month went over Angels in the Reef Tank. He said that there is no such thing as a safe angel. There are better choices than others, but nearly all will nip at corals. He also said that the best way to reduce the temptation is to feed regularly with a varied diet. According to the articles he passed out, "LPS are Yummy, Leathers are Yucky and SPS are hard to eat."
Good Luck

I'm wondering if I should remove my coral beauty when I upgrade tanks this month. It has always behaved well but I'm a little worried about it down the line getting more bold/hungrier for SPS and clam mantels.

Haha yummy LPS, I like them alot too! I guess my 2 other acan colonies will be moving soon also. Figures, Im trying to leave the other tank empty for a nem/clown pair and this pops up!

They also eat soft corals such as nepthia species (as I watched my potters do first hand). Softies are certainly on the menu as well.

Awesome...everything in my tank is edible. Any tricks to catch these weasels without destroying the tank?
