Just received my shipment of 5 polyp frag of radioactive dragon eye zoanthids.

Package was shipped very carefully. Frag was in a specimen collection cup, inside ziplock bag, box completely full of packing peanuts. Temp of the water when received was still at about 71 degrees! I'll assume this is from insulation from packing peanuts.

Obviously everything was closed up. Have the cup in water now, acclimating temp, then I'll start slowly adding some tank water and hopefully they'll open up in good time!

Just wanted to post to thank Eric (Calvin415) for fast shipment, as promised, and a great price! (Now let's just hope they open up!!!)

Thanks, hopefully they will open up soon! All my frags are started with only 1 or 2 heads so they are growing, spreading, and 100% healthy before they are put up for sale. Hopefully they will keep spreading and give you a full colony in no time!

They look about as good as they can closed up! Any idea what kind of time frame they usually take to get acclimated and open?

71 is completely normal, I wouldn't be worried about temperature, might take a few hours to open completely.

Oh, I wasn't worried, I was surprised! Temp here in Lincoln is about 55 right now, I was expecting it to be quite a bit lower.

It seems every frag is different on opening, some arrive partly opened, others take hours to days... Not sure why the difference as they are all the same age, and appear to act the same way before leaving, just growing at different paces (5 frags vs 10 frags). Perhaps USPS handles them differently and they get bumped around differently in transit. I believe I've taken every step I can to ensure they don't play soccer with the box before they deliver them. LOL!

Haha, alright. I'll give it awhile. Hopefully they'll start to open up by tomorrow.

(though as someone who use to be a medical courier it's a lil' disconcerting to get a pee cup packed frag)

LOL! Yeah, but they are "leak resistant". Great for sending frags and way cheaper than tupperware.

Thanks again! I just scored some new zoanthids last night, just hoping to get them grown out in the next month or so for fragging. (blue hornets, tubs blues, fires, superheros, and armor of gods)

I'm hoping to have some eagle eyes and more bam-bams available in the weeks ahead.
