so i've had my Yellow Assessor for about 5 days.
great fish. very healthy. very active. still in QT.
see pics and info on my tank thread (see signature).

i've got PE Mysis and Rod's Food.
seems the PE's too big.
he's picking some very small stuff out of the Rod's -> not sure what. but most of it he's tasting and spitting back out.
he's from ORA so i'm guessing he was eating ORAGlo there???
asked the LFS where i got him and they were feeding Dianichi Marine small pellet -> which he spits out when i tried it.
so i'm feeding the Rod's food now. and he's eating. but it makes a huge mess since most of it he doesn't eat. mad.gif
was thinking of trying some flake food???

any suggestions???
what are you feeding your Assessor???

thanks

Try the flake, also do you have any frozen Cyclopeeze or Cyclops?
Sushi
definitely try the cyclopeeze - i find that most finicky fish will take to eating this stuff and then slowly supplement other foods when feeding cyclopeeze.

I fed mine freeze dried Cyclopeeze at first and after a few weeks it started eating pellets and mysis.

Mine is taking mysis, and ora glow.. Only prob is my ora glow is down to it's last few weeks of feeding!!! I noticed that he is only eating things that are activley moving as well, so once it hits the sand, he is no longer interested...

I feed mine PE mysis (the cubes, they seem to be a little smaller in size than the flat pack). I also feed frozen brine shrimp and once in a while, cyclopeeze. As far as flake food, I feed the Omega One Marine with garlic flakes and he does eat it. I'll also feed NLS pellets.

Now after saying all of this, my assessor stays in hiding pretty much and I rarely get to see him. I'm assuming he's eating because his color is great and very active.

i picked up some Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef flakes and some SF Bay frozen cyclops.
we'll see how things go...
he's active (and interactive) and color's good; so, i think he's doin' ok.
just wanna find somethin' he'll really go after.
