I turn my back for 5 minutes... and I'm startled by the sound of my 10" tongs falling from the front edge of my filing cabinet (my nano is on top of it) after a loud "clang." I turned and realized almost instantly what had happened... a Nassarius snail managed to make it over the top edge of my tank, started crawling down the front glass of the tank, lost its grip, and fell down to the tongs, and ultimately to the floor. (carpet) I didn't see any physical damage on him, so I gently picked off the couple hairs/carpet fibers, and put him back in the tank. Off he goes again, to explore the glass and the rest of the reef. Any of you have carpet-surfing snails? Any potential damage beyond cracked shells from the initial fall? I'm in my room most of the time that I'm not at work, so it'd be rare for one to make it out of the tank and have more than 8 hours before I notice something is up... that's not enough time for one of 'em to expire, is it?

Nice title.....
I have one nass that likes to climb to the top of the tank and let go. He hasn't made it outside of the tank yet, just goes up and falls off. Maybe some nass are into base jumping? He bounces off rocks and other snails and always seems to be fine. Tough snails those nass.
