Hey all,

I'm trying to determine if my MP10 is too noisy and warrants sending in for Vortech to listen to it. My unit has never been "silent" like they claim it should be. I do get a whizzing noise of the dry side motor when it revs up. It can be as loud as my MH fans when it reaches top speeds.

If you have an MP10 can you post a short video of the dry side motor (capturing audio)???

It would be great help.... I know others have the same question and will want to compare.

Thanks!

agreed I just got one and it seems to vibrate a lot

If your running it on lagoon, short/long pulse, etc... it is normal to hear a slight winding. Ecotech-Marine doesn't advertise it as being silent, only quiet.

Spanky: you shouldn't be getting any vibrations what-so-ever. If you are, either use/don't use the spacer depending on your glass size, or re-align the dry side until it goes away. HTH

Hi all,
Mine was overly noisy, and Echotech Marine did a fantastic job swapping mine out with a new one under the warranty. My new one is soooo much more quieter now. It's like night and day.

Spanky - I agree, if you gettting a lot of vibration, your wet side may not be in that "sweet spot" try realigning. If you can't get it to stop after that, you may have a bad wet-side.

IME it might also just be your wet side. If its a type of grinding noise that gets louder or quieter randomly the it probably is your wet side. wink.gif

My problem was dry-side motor noise.

I agree with you on the wetside diagnoses.
