i thought i had briopsis in my tank so for a week i have been dosing kent mag and it is sort of mabey dying a little but it is still there im thinking it could be hair algae because my emerald crab is eating it but i havent seen him for a couple days. i also have other types of algae in my tank that wont go away. all params are in check including 0 nitrate and 0 phosphates. its a newer tank about a month old with a chromis in it and a cuc and that is it. should i wait until everything clears to add corals and anybody have any ideas how to get rid of the algae. i also do about 10 or 15 % water changes a week.

How are nutrients getting in (water source and feedings) and being removed (filtration/water changes) from the tank?

thats what i figured... once i run out of saltwater in my trash can i am going to start using RO/DI from the fish store to make saltwater and top off water. would u say i am alright to get my first coral though

Your tests may show 0 nitrates/phosphates, but that likely comes from the algae growth taking up the excess nutrients. If you get any corals, start with hardy soft corals like zoanthids or mushrooms.
