I found a 4" bristle worm (it shriveled up in the solo cup) munching on my GSP at about midnight tonight and yanked him out. He is currently now in my SW mixing bucket until I find out if that was indeed what it was doing and whether not to return him to the tank or to pass him on...

Video to follow once Youtube picks up the pace...

I caught and removed two of those nightmares that would hunt and kill my ceriths. Beneficial to the tank yea right.

Anyone in Central Florida that wants it can have it. Just let me know by Sunday evening. smile.gif

They will clean in and around the GSP but I doubt it was eating any live coral tissue, bristle worms don't work that way.

Added a poll to help me decide smile.gif

Show clear pictures of before and after pics with the lights on. Also, your picture of the bristleworm is not in focus. IMO, your video is not clear enough to indicate there was even GSP or that the bristleworm was eating the coral. Basically, I don't have enough information to know whether it was the bristleworm or something else that damaged the coral or even if the coral was damaged.

Justkidding: do you have hermit crabs?

It's stupid to try and lump all bristleworms into the same category since there are 10,000+ species (bristleworms are in the class polychaeta). Read this:
