So I'm thinking of asking for a camera for christmas, and i was wondering what to get. I want to get a canon point and shoot, and was thinking the s90 would be good? I was thinking about one of their bigger cameras, since they would take better pictures than the ELPHs. Or a d10 if anyone knows about that one.

just go bigger and get a DSLR full size like the cannon rebel or the nikon D series. You will end up wanting one anyways if you like taking pics and get more into the hobby of photography. I have a Nikon D60 and its great for aquarium stuff and takes great pics. Also the selection of lenses later down the road will be much worth it.

I can't get an SLR since im a kid, and im asking for it from my parents. Also, we already have a canon slr, im just looking for a camera that would take good pictures and still be fairly small.

gotcha. I dont know much about cannons. We have a powershot sd750 point and shoot also that takes good pics. Nikon makes some point and shoot types that have full lenses built in. They are kinda a step between slr and point and shoot. They might be worth checking out.

I have an old Canon A540 I still love. I do want a DSLR eventually. IMO, you won't go wrong with any of the newer Canon P&S cameras.

Oh wait that's what you said in your first post, haha. I'd say either that or a G10 if you want it to act more like a DSLR and size isn't as big a concern.
