Just thought I would throw that out there, my hand is cramped I have been at it for an hour and my tank still looks bad. Maybe I have too much LR? Anyway I am stressed.

Lord, and here I was thinking it was just me.
What size are your pieces? I had all big pieces and after the 10000000000th re-scape I was going to throw one of them at the tank and call it even

. I ended up taking a hammer and chisel and beating the bejeesus out of my rocks until I had a shape I could work with and epoxy easier.
I feel yo' pain my reefing friend.

mostly smaller pieces I am just getting so frustrated! I am going to take a break and let my corals recover.

Is this a new tank and new rock? If so figure out you scape outside the tank and then dis-assemble it and rebuild it in your tank. Get a big piece of cardboard and draw the tank bottom on it based on measurements and do it on that on the floor with a beer! If not do what Lajz9 suggested and try again!
Edit: Corals....nevermind! Just drink!

Thanks. At least other people out there feel my pain. That is a great Idea with the cardboard for a new tank.

+1
To all the above, always grab the drink before you start rescaping, and i also got very frustrated and hook a golf club to my LR, smaller pieces gave me much more options. good luck

Less is more when it comes to simple aquascaping.

You might be overthinking the rock. Remember that once your corals grow in the shape of the live rock pile won't even be visible. Some of the best scapes just have the basic pyramid pattern of rock covered with kick @$$ corals.

So, you're bothering to aquascape a frag/propagation tank?

When i did my 30 i pictured how i wanted then found live rock that would work pretty much way i wanted. It took me like 10 minutes when had the rock to get it perfect.

Same for me! Went in easy and turned out good. I haven't changed it since. Probably being creative helped.
Remember, reefing is supposed to be fun but breaking the tank would solve all that troubles you.

Yeah yeah rub it in jerk....
It helps to look at others' aquascapes first, figure out what you want yours to look like, and then break/epoxy together your rocks to get it close to it.
It also helps to have a good selection of rocks to choose from. I got more LR than I needed, and tried different combos. The leftovers, I threw into a rubbermaid and was going to keep it going for later use but actually eventually just sold them to local members.
