Wow that's beautiful can't wait to see it progress! Your white balance must be off cause that looks WAY blue smile.gif

Nice tank and scape! Do you have any pictures of the back chamber?
KJoFan
Yes I'm sure the white balance is probably off. I just took some quick pics of it earlier. I'll try to get some better/true to life ones of it.

I will also grab a few of the back chamber and post those up.

All to come tomorrow when the light is on. smile.gif

Pics of the back chambers:

Return pump chamber. Also where the ATO switch is obviously. I need to find a better way to secure the freshwater feed line though besides a clothespin. smile.gif

Middle chamber/fuge area. Currently houses the heaters, will also house the skimmer once I get it in there. Might need to rearrange a bit, but I think it will all fit. Also will probably add a bit of LR rubble and/or LS eventually.

First chamber. There is one media rack present/built in. Right now I just have filter floss in there to help clear up the cloudiness from the sand. I would have liked to put in one of StevieT's media racks but I'm not sure any would fit and since there's already the one level built in I don't know how it would work. But if I could have more levels to run filter floss, chaeto and something like Chemi-Pure I'd be happy.

Looks like I might have to implement a fan into the mix. My temp is rising 3-4 degrees over an 8 hour period while the light is on. 3 I can live with, 4 is pushing it, in my opinion. Bummer.

I added a few corals to test things out, so far so good. Although they weren't the healthiest to begin with, so I'll give them a little time to recover, then post up some pics.

I need to work on getting my CUC in there too.

Also added the Tunze 9002 today, not alot to skim yet but I wanted to get it going.

I will also be adding a powerhead soon. Probably a Koralia 2 along the back wall, under the frag rack. That should provide enough flow I think.

* Two Week Update*

Started seeing some diatoms on the sand a few days back. I don't expect a huge outbreak of algae because I imagine the cycle was pretty soft.

Added a few frags from my frag tank this week. Seem to be doing well so far. Also added a few snails yesterday and performed the first water change today.

*Livestock added*:

2 x Nassarius Snails
2 x Cerith Snails

*Corals*:

Orange BamBam Zoas
Half dead Duncan frag
some kind of Micromussa (I think)
a piece of rubble with a few zoa polyps on it
some kind of palys
an unknown frag

Acquired and added yesterday on a trade:

Acan frag
large paly/zoa frag

*Pictures*

Can anyone ID the frag in the top left corner behind the closed bambams?

Ok I've been trying to come up with a stocking list for this tank. Here's what I'm choosing between at the moment:

1 x Yellow Watchmen Goby (perhaps paired with a pistol shrimp)
1 x Green Clown Goby
1 x Tailspot Blenny
1 x Twinspot Goby

My initial thought was to go with:

1 x Tailspot Blenny
1 x Green Clown Goby
1 x Pajama Cardinalfish

I don't want all bottom dwelling fish hence the addition of the cardinalfish. Are there other peaceful swimmers I should consider?

Would the Tailspot Blenny get along with a YWG?

Suggestions and opinions are welcome.

I think the tailspot would be okay. For swimmers, I would pick a McCosker's flasher wrasse, clownfish, or a firefish. Firefish are a bit boring, but cardinals are sooo much more boring IMO.

Just noticed your tank is open top.... Flashers and firefish jump. So do clown gobies. I think blennies might too... You might be okay with a clown goby, but I wouldn't do it since it would quickly become your favorite fish. You don't want it to jump sad.gif

I actually picked up a YWG this weekend. I am wondering if a tailspot would still go with him or not?

For the swimmer I'm considering a firefish, hoping that it wouldn't choose to hang out in the back somewhere. smile.gif Otherwise maybe a clown. I feel like there wouldn't be enough swimming room for a wrasse.

I actually made a screen top for it this weekend as well. So we should be good to go on jumpers. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the input!
