I have been creepin around the site for a little while. and finally decided to post.
Been in the hobby for about 8 months or so, I have a 75G up, and a 20L

My situation is as fallows...
FTS 1-13


the tank was drilled on either side for exit/return
I am using a 10g for the sump
Current sundial 4x24w for lighting..

nothing to special just simple!

If u have any questions i will try and answer them! still feel like a noob after floating around NR.

Glad you could stay in the hobby. I think you will like the 20l. I see some zoas in there, what else do you have planned?

As far as stocking plans.. im open to whatever at the moment. the corals i have in the 20l are what i had left in the 75. not sure what my T5s can grow.

tonight i was plannin to set my 10G sump, up as a sump/fuge/finish some plumming. i WILL post pictures for u guys !!

Assuming those are T5HO, you can keep just about anything under 4x24w. In my 20L with 4x24w T5HO lighting, I've got softies, LPS, and SPS growing.

Yup looks like you are good to go with the Sundial 4x24. Here are the specs.

maybe after some months i will put a frag of sps or something, till tonight!

I've got the same light on my 20L and with my new ATI bulbs it's friggin' on fire compared to the sunpaq bulbs. So i recommend upgrading the bulbs when you get a chance it makes a world of difference!

yep, love the zoas! most are wild cought by me and a friend, that'd be the ones that are browned out and oogly, some seem to be getting colors back..

Upgraded my return pump from a MJ1200 to a rio1700, works like a dream..

added a sixline to the system.

getting new bulbs next week!!

throw out some bulb combos!! let me know what might be best looking,
i have current stock bulbs ATM
was looking at ATI, just dont know what combo/mix i want...

Those are long gone my friend. They were my prized superman mushrooms I had a couple of years ago in a 2.5 gallon pico. But I have similar ones, and mushrooms are easy to frag. Come by whenever you want and check out the Cardiff.

Don't see it anywhere so gotta ask. Is the white PVC on the left side your overflow? Is it noisy? And most importantly why didn't you take the stickers off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the pvc is the overflow, and its quiet. and its not stickers its the barcode thats painted on the side.. lol if it bothers u i can turn it around its i can adjust the pipe if i need to

maybe i can show what i did to silence the overflow some..

That would be worth seeing, I means how you silenced the overflow.

Simple yet effective ...
This is what i did to silence the flow..

sponge and a piece of pvc..
sponge inside the drain cap, and the pvc with holes inside the drain itself.






and down below, i have a T fitting where the water exits, which has a small hole on the end that is capped. not sure if this made it any quieter.

Decided i was not fully happy with my current set-up.. So i changed it

I replaced the 20L with a rimless 20L and moved my plumming arround back where it belongs.

replaced my sand with new sand.. and this is what my part of the reef looks like!


also looking to upgrade my bulbs.. they r 2 10K, and 2 Acintic.

Was thinking about (i want both growth and color)

1 GE 65k

new sand too huh? man i just got new bulbs on mine, big improvement.. and those first couple rics i got from you arent lookin so hot, i think theyre getting too much flow, what you think? i figure you might know whats up with em.. looking good though

Yep , i had to go there, sand and all.. lol its much cleaner lookin, i am keepin my rics off to the side in lower flow little less light myself, seem to be doin great.. i got new bulbs on the way myself, i hope i like the combo..

I will be interested to see your bulb combo when you get the new ones, I am looking to change the bulbs on my 55 asap, and what you mentioned above is similar to what I want to get.

Bulbs are in as of friday night,

and what i got is(front to back)
1x ati Blue plus
1x UVL Aquasun (10k)
1x ati Special (12k)
1x UVL 75/25

now not know that the aqua sun (10k) is pinkish along with the 75/25 i might have picked another bulb, but its not to bad.. just usta the 10k/acintic look

i will try and get a pic close to the color..

got me a MP10 and installed it!!
