aw Well I wouldnt want to hurt SP.

I decided on the 70W MH for my 5.5 frag tank I am getting next month. It's a bit more but I want to put SPS in there and the T5 just didnt seem good enough.

If your going 70w halide, GET A 10g!!!!!

just do it!
you'll have moar space (youll want it),
and youll have the PERFECT light spread, bottom to top, for softies, lps, and sps.

Nah, I dont have room for the 10G. I was going to put a shelf on the wall for the 5.5 above the 10G and have it plumbed into it. That tank is always at 0 nitrates so I would just have to dose some and change the water bi-weekly. I thought about going with T5 but the tank is only 16" and they are all 18+" and the MH is 11". Also the 18" T5 was only 36 watts. I dont know if thats enough for SPS in the 5.5G.

prolly not as much as youre going for.....


but honestly dude....your gonna find out FAST that a 5.5g is too small.

the sps may not be all to happy in der eeder.

awesome frag tank!!! i might have to get my hubby to build me one of those!!! he probably will since he just realized you can sell corals for $. this is him "so you can buy a little coral for 20 bucks and then it will grow, you cut it up and then sell all the little pieces for 20 bucks each?"

This light is built surprisingly well.
Although it lacks individual reflectors, the light output is still VERY bright.
(it rivals the brightness of my Hagen-Glo T5's)

The light is also very light-wieght, comes w/ a splashgaurd,
and has very sturdy adjustable legs that allow the whole light unit to be flipped outta the way....

Nice frag tank you got there. I keep envisioning a huge setup where the DT, sump and frag tank are all plumbed in together with super skimmers and awesome filtration and perfect flow creating the perfect inviroment for the coral and frags both with all the plumbing hidden in the walls and when people look at it they would be like "holy freaking crap thats awesome!". Then I remember I am cheap, lazy and married so the rubbermaid is perfect lol.
