Ok so I have the stand leveled with shims on carpet and the thing is really sinking down into the carpet pretty good. Now should I put a piece of 3/4" mdf under the stand or just use the shims just under the stand in certain spots and let the carpet sink. BTW its an apartment and I really dont want to ruin the carpet pad.

i have had many tanks a 80G cube and it was on carpet, i used shims and there was plywood for the base, i just shimmed it and made it level, then added water then adjusted for the carpet. and there you go, carpet pops back up in time, once you take the tank off.

I only use shims on my tank, but it takes several days before it actually settles all the way so you may need to adjust the shims later on.

thanks for the quick replys.... sounds like I am goingto be ok but its going to be a bit hard to to readjust the shims on my carpet full of water due to the type of carpet I have but I think I will fill with fresh water and let it set and see how it acts.

usually its just a slight tap on one or 2 never major if you level before hand.
