Im looking to make a media rack for my bc 29 with some plexi i have laying around. I see many people use Weldon 4 in their tank but i cannot seem to find it anywhere locally.. Is a two part epoxy safe for aquarium use or should i order some weldon off the internet??? Any one know of a cheap place to pick some up?

Epoxy didn't work for me when I did the very thing you want to do. The basic, cheap epoxy absorbs water and becomes weak.

A marine-grade epoxy may be sufficient but weldon is really what you want for a permanent fix.

I picked up some Weldon 16 from tap plastics to repair a skimmer, I belive once it is dry it should be safe.

Otherwise I have used sSuper Glue and aquarium safe sillycone

Thanks for the input! I guess I should just order the right stuff and wait...

MEK or methyl ethyl ketone is the key ingredient in welding acrylic. this melts the 2 piece welding it together.

go to home depot and see if you can find MEK, if not, PVC pipe cleaner will work as well.

<------build tank and sump using pvc cleaner and worked flawlessly
