Just wondering cuz my Alk was high and I'm trying to repair my tank and my button polyps wont open. Does it change throughout the day like PH?

no.. it should remain constant in the 9-11 range

What are the actual values that you're getting? Are you dosing anything?

dKH is at 14 I know its high its coming down it was at something insane like 17 lol I'm dosing with Ca to get it down.

How did the Alk get so high?

Adding buffer every time I topped off lol Oh btw would SPS be ok in this tank? Im assuming the high Alk wont bother them as much? I mean I fully intend on getting it back down to normal again.

high alk will burn the tips.. don't worry about pH.. worry about keeping your alk at 10 and your calc at 400-420
