Hi all,
I've been treating my partially-blind Yellowhead Jawfish for Ich using Cupramine. He, as well as his ocellaris tank-mate both developed severe Ich after I introduced them into my DT without quarantining them in August (yes, I've learned my lesson). My tank has been running fallow since Sept. 9 and the fish are in 2 seperate QT tanks. I ran the first Cupramine treatment for 14 days as perscribed but the Jawfish re-developed Ich a few days later. I'm now completing a second, much longer Cupramine treatment and the Jawfish has been great since about day 5 of that treatment (and yes he's regaining his sight gradually for those who saw my other threads).
My problem is this: He still has 2 tiny white spots on his right side. They are very pale white and barely visible but they are there. They don't seem to be raised or look like regular ich spots. One is about half way back, just above his lateral line and the other is just in front of his tail fin. Both have been present in the exact same location since I first noticed them about 3-4 weeks ago. At first I thought they wer Ich but now I'm not so sure? Ich spots come and go during an infestation as far as I know, right? In every other way he seems cured of Ich. Is it possible these are permanent scars or markings? How can I tell if they are a parasite? I don't want to re-introduce him to my tank if he is still infected with something. I would have uploaded pictures but I can't get them to turn out in any photos I take as they are too pale and small. If I stop the copper for 2 weeks and monitor, and he seems totally healthy except those 2 spots remain, what should I do?
Thanks
