i was reading another thread and apparently there is bad press about them?
ive heard personally that thier sumps were so so but other than that have not heard much

Avoid them. Period.

I never had a problem with them. you can see my tank in my sig.

So far as I have read, sometimes everything goes fine, though their craftsmanship is sometimes not up to par. Other times, things go decidedly and horribly wrong.

Doing business with them is apparantly a gamble.
DHaut
If you're looking for a small project, I wouldn't bother. I had horrible service with them and never got my order placed. If it's a larger tank, they may be more willing to work with you.

my experience was bad with them

I'll be ordering glass from them within the next few weeks. I'll post how it went within my build thread. Of course they're only cutting/sanding/shipping my glass. No building as I'll be doing that myself.

Oh, I got quotes from them (including three low iron panels) and they replied quickly with great prices... Again, I'll be finalizing and ordering soon.

So if one wanted a custom 90-100g long and shallow rimless tank which would be a good place to order from?
plantarms
i ordered a 16''x20''x10'' rimless tank from them and like everyone says, i really did receive terrible customer service. while it did not leak, the tank did not have perfect corner seams, and the silicone job was fairly shoddy for a professional company. here is a picture of the tank, i don't have any close ups of the corners or seam unfortunately

You get what you pay for. Cheap price usually = cheap product.

I should know. 240 gallons and untold thousands of dollars ended up on my floor.

I've gone through a lot of their glass and have had excellent service on that specific end. However, I have also ordered a few hack tanks from them. I like their glass, but I wouldn't trust them to build a complete tank.

This is the idea I've settled on.

If you live in a big city you can usually just go through a large local glass shop for cut and edged glass. They usually work with all the various types of glass and will custom cut and bevel/polish edges. Best of all no shipping and usually just a few days turn around after you order.

I live in a small city and they have a large glass shop where I have ordered glass from before for overflow and what not.
