Picked up a gorgeous 1 1/2 inch Maxima last night and need some quick advice on placement before she attaches

I have her high in my tank about 8 inches from a 150 HQI 14,000k phoenix

DO you think that's her spot or should she be lower?

thanks

What color is it? I've noticed blues like to be higher. My gold/brown was on the rocks and kept shooting itself down to the sand. It now has a permanent spot in the sand right up front in the middle of the tank. If anything put it in the sand with a frag DISC, not plug, underneath so it will attach to that. Then you can move the clam around to find a good spot.

Oh yeah forgot, my lighting is the Nova Extreme Pro T5s.

She's a sky/powder blue (looks aqua green when viewed from above)

Nice I was gonna pick one up that color last week but decided to hold off for a bit.

I would try in the sand first. One so it can get used to the lighting, and two so it won't get unnecessarily hurt trying to shoot itself down there. If you notice the mantle is extending upward, not out and down/flat, it wants more light and move it up a bit.

You also don't need to worry about it attaching too quickly, IME it won't attach if it isn't happy. It would try to move around first, which won't be too good depending on what is in it's way as it falls.

I have a BC 29 with the 20"NEP my Maxima is @ 6 inches middle center of the tank and seems very happy.

Here is a pic...

I would think that you could do lower third or sand easily, +1 to putting small rock/ disc under clam.

Lets see a pic!
