Man, I hate to leave crappy feedback, I always feel like an azz hat, but gotta do it anyway mellow.gif

Decided to go ahead and buy as seagul had some positive feedback here, that was a mistake.

Has you pay by paypal, but explains to buyer they need to send as *gift* not goods/services (which I didn't do thankfully).

Paid on 10/13 its now 10/26 and no tracking number, no response to PM or email. NOTHING. Has poor reviews on Michigan Reefer and has a line of people waiting on *goods* over at Aquatic Plant Central. None of these people have any recourse because they all sent the money as a gift.

The dispute is still open with paypal and I will update when it concludes.

Save yourself the risk/worry and pass on any deals from this seller.

Please see the following thread for further evidence:

Posted a name because I'm fairly certain she will be changing her paypal details so she can scam more people.

After careful review, we have concluded our investigation of the Buyer
Complaint described below.

We have decided in your favor, however, we were unable to recover any funds
from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery

yep, if you send money as a "gift", you get charged the fees, not the recipient.

If you paid with a credit card you can file a dispute with the card company and you'll get your money back whether the scam artist has it or not. I'd file the dispute asap though! Make sure to include the info from paypal where they agree that you're owed the money, etc... Best thing is that they'll get a $28 surcharge added onto their account, and paypal will go after them for the money by locking their account and IP!
Orphicdragon
I technically paid through my bank account, so I am going to hit up the bank and see if they can help me out.

Thanks very much though, I appreciate the lookin' out organism smile.gif

I've gotten refunds from the bank on paypal as well (tons of scammers out there), just had to fill out a form and that was it. I just told them it was an unauthorized withdrawal, which if they withdrew and I didn't receive is what it was smile.gif

You always have the option of calling the Sheriff that works in their county. Assuming you have a mailing address from them which you should be able to get from Paypal. Internet fraud is a federal offense if it occurs over state lines and carries some stiff fines and jail time. Call the Sheriff department and relay everything you know about the seller and the transaction. You may not get your money back but you can rest assured they won't be pulling this stunt again for 5-10. I've known two people who have resorted to this and have had positive results working with the sheriff department.

So, if I understand, you can just call a sherriff and they'll go arrest somebody on your say-so?
Wow, good to know.
I would have thought you'd need a court order first.
Live and learn.

Don't you have enough of your own trouble to deal with? Go file your "slander" lawsuits and leave people trying to be helpful alone please. Things are contentious enough.

My bad.
I thought this was a public forum for people to ask questions and get information.

I guess it's just a place for a bunch of no-nothing punks to mouth off about things they have no clue about.
Again, my bad.

No that's not what I said. You submit your evidence to the sheriff and they will act after a review of the material. If a warrant is required to gather evidence (bank records, email messages, etc) they will still need to file for a warrant with a judge and your evidence will have to be fairly compelling to get a warrant. They don't just go an bust down doors on a single phone call, but they will work to help arrest people who steal money through paypal, so don't think Paypal and your bank are your only options.

Isn't there a phone number on the paypal account? I'll be that his mom would be really surprised to learn that not only is her son ripping people off but that she's legally liable for it as well. If there's no number on paypal pop the address into an online phone book and see if the number pops up.

Searched the other email and ended up here

OH MY EFFIN (*&&$%$@$@$%&*&)(*&%^^%$#!!!!!

Ok so I just got done cussing out paypal.

I filed a dispute through my bank to get my 60$ back.

Paypal charges me $60, and says my account in is the negative.

Wtf huh.gif

It is against paypal TOS to file with the bank AND paypal. So since paypal gave my bank $60 they say I owe them $60.

Nuh uh says I, the douchebag who ripped me off owes you 60 not me.

No. We had to give you $60, so you owe us the money. Please pay or blah blah you know the drill. Then the AZZhat says that as SOON as the seller puts money in the account it will be immediately transferred to me.

Right cuz they guy ripped everyone off and is going to use that account again.

Paypal douche says, oh it happens all the time, I just refunded some money from three years ago smile.gif
Use ebay next time that is the only stuff we 100% cover.

I hope paypal dies in a blazing fire. I'm not payin them $&^T. So now my balance stays negative until super douche puts money in his "ha ha I robbed a bunch of people" account.

It's illegal for paypal to go after you for that money, if possible delete your bank account and credit cards from the account until this all clears up. If they send you a notice from a collection agency please keep me posted, I had a similar issue with them 3 years ago, they ended up having to pay me an extra $1000 in court for FCRA violations and don't even think of messing with my account anymore smile.gif

A CA court ruled that their terms and conditions are unconscionable by the way, so they can reference them all they want but they still won't mean #### in court.

Said paypal account is in my name. I received a call from them yesterday afternoon asking if I wanted to put money into my account to make it even. I told the customer service rep that I was not interested in putting any money into the account or using the account until they could retrieve the money from Seagul. I told him that I shouldn't be penalized for his transgressions. I was then told that they were going to send me to collections. I told him that they had just put my account into the negative today and that if they did send me to collections that I would notify the credit bureaus of the situation requesting that they attach the information to my file. So this morning when I get up we had an unauthorized transaction from our bank account from paypal in the exact amount of the ACH refund that was processed by the bank two days ago. I immediately called the bank and informed them of the situation, but the branches weren't open. sad.gif

Yup, they'll do that, your bank will clear it up though since you clearly didn't authorize it. If you can do so get your bank info deleted from paypal since you can do that when the account is at $0 right now, and don't let them intimidate you with threats of collection agencies. Just write paypal an email and cc a copy to yourself with the details of the case, why the money was deducted by your bank from the seagul transaction and how you aren't liable and they need to immediately cease and desist any and all transactions from your bank account since they're now unauthorized. After that if any of it appears on your credit report you get to make money like I did smile.gif

I got with both the bank and Paypal. The bank told Paypal that it was an unauthorized transaction. Based on their conversation Paypal then went back into my Paypal account and adjusted the account so that it wasn't negative. They then also reopened the claim against Seagul so they could recoup the funds from him.
