I've just got done glueing and test fitting my hood to mount my little lights and hide some wires etc. I made it out of 1/4" thick poplar (mostly because it was cheaper and looked flatter than the oak). I still want to come up with something to go on top, but I might just put a few cross braces to ziptie my lights to.

I'm looking to smooth it out and paint it black for that smooth. glossy look.

I do have to say though, this one came out waaay better than the last few I've made biggrin.gif

looks good so far... what's going into it for lights?

I;m using 120 or so 5mm LEDs I had left over from a couple years ago. I'm not sure how well it will do, but it cost me $10 for a couple of PCBs. If that doesn't work out, I'll probably have to go with a 96w PC since I have the ballast still.
