Hey all,

It was my first time there today and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. There were fewer vendors than I thought. Vendors also did not have the colorful corals that I was looking for. Many of the sps were dull in color probably due to shipping here. There were however some nice clams and some nice eye candy pieces. However most of the nicer pieces were sold instantly. It's a good place to go to if you want some bargain equipment, additives, and cheap corals. It will cost you $10 to get in though. Hopefully the next I go there will be some nicer things that I am looking for.

Yeah....I'm gonna have to disagree with you here. This was my 2nd time attending and I feel like this show was better than last years. Corals were priced better and I found plenty of great deals. Like the buy 3 frags for $20 each and get one free from an exhibitor that came down from Sacramento, I scored a 10 polyp frag of Tubbs Blues off them for $20...I'd say that deal alone made the show worthwhile. As part of that 3 pack I also got a nice 1 headed hammer, a frag of 15+ yellow zoos and a hockey puck sized piece of green cap.

I also scored an awesome orange yuma for $35, a baby green short tentacle fungia with an orange mouth for $20, and two rocks covered in zoas for $20 each, . I'd say the highlight of the show for me were the guys from cherry corals with their tank full of $25 acan frags. I picked up 2 with each having easily over 5 heads on the frags, one is a jester pattern and the other is a bright pink/red color. These guys had great deals on all of their acans though, rainbow frags with 5+ heads for $40 but I stuck with the cheaper frags

Yup, I got much better deals today than I did at MAX, I bought a 3-Head Frag Blasto for $15 and a three polyp frag of Purple Death for $10.

Well I guess, it's because I got there late but, I was looking for more SPS corals & acans like the rainbow orange one but it was sold mad.gif (bright stuff). I'm wasn't really looking for softies or zoas because I have no where to put them.

You got to get there at opening time. I got some good deals on nice LPS. The event was pretty good and I found a lot of reasonably priced stuff.

Oh, and there was a coupon in the LA Times that gave you $5 off admission. So only $5. And if you got there at the beginning you get a free bag of frozen PE Mysis, so that makes up for admission.

Well unfortunately I had ACT testing this morning as I am a senior in high school. I had some good deals on sps corals. $50 for a future tyree grafted cap since the other the sent me died yesterday for unknown reasons (tissue melted away). $15 sunset mille, purple green birdsnest for $10, rainbow acro for $60, and borealis for $30.

NEVER base the quality of a show off of if you didn't find what YOU were looking for. There's a specific zoa was searching for there and I found it! Not as eye catching as pics I've seen of it, but I won't say the show sucks because of it. And ditto on the above posters, there was TONS of awesome and good priced coral there before the doors opened!

That all aside, many seem to forget the economy isn't what it was this time last year, so the show won't quite be what it was last year. Quality of goods is definitely better than last year, sadly the spectator count is definitely down...

Meh, I guess. I'll probably be back anyways next year, but this time no testing or at least I hope not.

My girlfriend and I had a great time. We really enjoyed all the vendors with the LED set-ups and the beautiful tanks. I was really happy with what I bought especially from cherry corals having a $25 frag tank which made it irresistible to buy a very nice frag of acans with 8 heads!!! I also got a nice piece of trumpet coral for $15.

Also I got a free sample of instant oceans new gel based marine blend food. All I've got to say is WOW my clowns and firefish LOVE it!

I will definitely come back next year!

Cherry corals did have some really good prices on acans. Picked up my acan from them as well.

I had a good time - didn't stay as long as I thought I would but overall it was a great experience. The deals to be had were limitless!

I went yesterday and thought it was pretty neat. Sure, a great portion of the frags were the green/brown variety, but they still had a ton of vendors there, especially Hydor (represent!). OC Aquatics was there, so I avoided that booth like a plague (have had a bad experience with the shop-owner, who was also there). The tank full of B/W O. Clownfish was EXTREMELY difficult for me to pass up, especially at $20/30 dollars each. The LFS around Socal usually sell B/W's only in pairs, and then only for 100-200 dollars. Extreme rip off imo.

It could be just that I am picky but Idk. Anyways you go broke with all those deals out there. Next year though I will back earlier than before. Exotic Frags Us had some nice frags but they were all sold. I'm pretty much set with my fish. I feel like my fish stock is already overloaded but who knows. Was Aqua SD there?

Haha, she offered me $50 for that same yuma on the right side.

I got my yuma from a different vendor, fraggle reef even had yumas for $25 but I blew my load too quick wink.gif

I had a good time, SUPER long weekend and I didn't get anything coral wise. Helped Brian @ the fragglereef booth sat & sunday so I'm sure I saw all of you at some point that went. Volunteered friday to help many of the vendors setup, and at teardown sunday I got a bucket of salt from one of them as a 'thankyou' which was super nice. I also won the 48" t5 retro in the sunday raffle. tongue.gif
