Wanted to upgrade my JBJ 24 cube to hallide/ w/ actinic, is this item plug and play? any sales going on? thanks! Any other equipment needed to time this for sunrise/sunset (actinics to halide) and capabilities to use the moon lights while timer is off on main lights?

The halide upgrades are actually relatively intensive from an installation standpoint, which is why they're listed in our "expert series" category. These require modifying your canopy, creating a ballast enclosure box and soldering all connections.

If you haven't already, I might suggest considering our LED upgrade kits instead, which are much more user friendly, put out much less (almost non-existant) heat than halides, lower electrical usage and longer component life span. Pricing is pretty much in the same ballpark too.
