Chuck H.
Well, I've had my Nanocube up and running (after downsizing from a 65) since March of last year. Doing great, until the Bryopsis popped up. Now, I'm overrun and at wits end. Tried Tech-M for months, frequent testing with Elos up to 1600+, no luck. Pruning until my fingers are wrinkled. I'm done. I'm starting over, beginning today:

I like the sizes and shapes of this LR. I was hoping for a bit more color and life, but overall I'm satisfied. 16 lbs. should allow a "minimalistic" aquascaping format so that if the dreaded weed comes back, my rocks will be easier to remove and scrub. Thanks for looking, more pics will follow once I break down the tank and rinse it out to begin again.

Well, here we go:
Here's a pic of the tank about 2 weeks ago before breaking down, it's hard to tell, but there's Bryopsis on every rock:

Tank emptied and rinsed out. Used a bit of vinegar to help with the stubborn stuff, that back wall was a pain:

Filling up with distilled water. I have a Reef Commander DI Unit, but even at 4 minutes a gallon, it would take to long to get it filled. I also had some extra heaters laying around to help get the temp. up:

I went bare bottom last time and decided to go SSB this time. Used a 20 lb. bag of Fiji Pink from Caribsea:

I think I had too much LR the first go around, so this time I'm using 16 lbs. from Drs. F&S, their assorted Pacific nano LR:

And here's some pics with just the 2 18w PC actinics on:

Also, for those current or future 28 HQI owners who may be interested: the display has a volume of about 21 gallons before water starts to go through the overflow. Another 2 gallons will fill the back chambers up to the top of the baffles. So, our 28's are really 23's - empty (I counted the 1 gallon jugs as I filled it up with distilled water).

Well, ran a battery of water chemistry today...everything looks good, just a trace of Nitrate. So I think I'll go to my favorite LFS tomorrow and pick-up a small CUC. Here's some pics from a few minutes ago. Water is a bit cloudy, still need to adjust the K-1's, seem to be kicking up the fine sand a bit.

Looks good. I like to rock setup so far.

Bryopsis is such a pain. I have some of it (isolated) in my 10g and I'm trying to figure out what to do with those rocks as it is rapidly overtaking some of my favorite zoanthids. I've read that it can be killed by magnesium but I don't want to dose my display tanks with that so I'm thinking about using an idle 1g pico I have to see if I can kill it off.
