SMS alerts that can alert you even if your power goes out?
Vancouver Reefer
ohhh your good!!! Beer for you!!!
cptbjorn
Awesome feature, you are way way ahead of me on the controller stuff but that's on my possible list smile.gif If you are going to use rechargeable batteries it might be a good idea to spend the extra couple bucks for low self discharge batteries such as eneloops though. They retain a charge for years instead of weeks.

Also why, are you predicting a big storm this year? scarry01.gif I think we are due...

Haha westsiders...

My guess was gonna be ipod lolz

Jacobnano
I wish I was hunting sad.gif

And nope, no farmer here haha. Have fun at starbucks tongue.gif haha

ive also developed a peak charger to keep the batteries topped off and at peak performance. I only need a few moments to power the unit to send out the message. After that i dont care. With 2500mAh batteries it should power my toy for 2 hours. Good enough for what i need!

hows the aquatroller coming?
Vancouver Reefer
Aquatroller is coming along great. Unfortunatley ive hit a financial roadblock at the moment so i dont have any funds to put in and finish it.
I need to buy my aquarium im going to fit it all to and then i can start building the LED array and setting up the PH and EC probes etc.

Once i get the finances back and sorted this thing will be knocked out in no time. And now with the added feature explained above.

a word to the wise, be sure to check your phone bill daily to see if you're sending/terminating your sms msgs properly.
... don't ask how i know this o.o
Vancouver Reefer
I will do, but ive sourced a non-expiry Pay-as-you-go sim card to use solely on this. My code is written to send 1 SMS then shut down.

Thanks for the words of warning though!!
