Awesome feature, you are way way ahead of me on the controller stuff but that's on my possible list

If you are going to use rechargeable batteries it might be a good idea to spend the extra couple bucks for low self discharge batteries such as eneloops though. They retain a charge for years instead of weeks.
Also why, are you predicting a big storm this year?

I think we are due...

ive also developed a peak charger to keep the batteries topped off and at peak performance. I only need a few moments to power the unit to send out the message. After that i dont care. With 2500mAh batteries it should power my toy for 2 hours. Good enough for what i need!

hows the aquatroller coming?

Aquatroller is coming along great. Unfortunatley ive hit a financial roadblock at the moment so i dont have any funds to put in and finish it.
I need to buy my aquarium im going to fit it all to and then i can start building the LED array and setting up the PH and EC probes etc.
Once i get the finances back and sorted this thing will be knocked out in no time. And now with the added feature explained above.

a word to the wise, be sure to check your phone bill daily to see if you're sending/terminating your sms msgs properly.
... don't ask how i know this o.o

I will do, but ive sourced a non-expiry Pay-as-you-go sim card to use solely on this. My code is written to send 1 SMS then shut down.
Thanks for the words of warning though!!
