Finally got time to snap some pic's of the new 3.5 pico!
Kinda Bla right now due to the lack of coral but that will change.
This is a PicO Aquariums Barracuda acrylic tank with LED lighting.
The lighting is 6 Cree LED's 4 blue 2 white.
Hopefully going to hit up the LFS tommorow for some new corals.

Of course it's impossible to get good pic's with LED lighting because it's so bright. One of these day's i'm gonna figure out how to

I gave up on settings again due to the lack of time and shot RAW in auto mode without the flash and adjusted in lightroom for the exposure issue. I know there are some post's somewhere in the Photo forum about setting.
Did you get your new camera then?

Yeah, just haven't had time to play with it much. Going to try and take some shots tomorrow when the lights come on. The little bit I have used it makes me happy - managed some great pics of my grandson playing!! Not having a lag on the shots makes that fun for sure...
I'm really anxious to get some good pics of the Green and Purple Acan in my Barracuda, it is loaded with babies all around the edge of the frag! That and the Micromussa are growing the fastest. Going to move a couple of little Monti frags and see how they do...

I am amazed how quick stuff grows under LED's. My monti's in both the BC14 and the Barracuda are growing like weeds and super fat and colorful. That's how I talked Laura into our DSLR was to take pictures of the little one. She figured it out when I had it up on the tripod in front of the tank a hour after I got it

Got some new coral that I am acclimating now I will get some pic's tonight.
I will also get a pic of the underbelly of the light for you.
The light that I have I will no longer be making I have a few left but there will be a new line coming out this winter. I will be concentrating more on the tank designs and possibly custom tanks. The lighting will be outsourced but don't worry I don't mean china

way closer to home then that.
Most likely the unit will be universal as apposed to the proprietary setup I use now.
I have really great ideas for tanks and I am working with my local glass company to not only bring the price down but offer low iron starphire glass in smaller tanks like ours.

Tanks look nice. I am a pico LED keeper too. I have a similar size tank and build a 12led setup for it, a bit overkill but I get good coverage and can dial down. I am interested to watch the coloration of your monti under the LED. I had a monti in my bc29 under the PC was getting okay grown but it was browned out, switched to the LED first week in july and I dont feel the color has changed at all, but its growing well.

Mine all went from white/pink to a beautiful rusty color with purple polyps.
But I have also noticed my zoo's have a hard time under the light and don't grow near as big or ope as much.

Deli are you still running with the lights at half tilt? Do you have seperate dimmers for the whites/blues or just seperate dimmers for each fixture? Have your zoas started to acclimate to the light or are you still having issues?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a shopping list together for my LED setup and would like to know what others opinions are with theirs.

Still running dimmed a bit and yes my zoo's are smaller and don't open as much.As far as the dimmer goes I use one dimmer for all 6 LED's

how have the corals that you have in the tank reacted to the led fixture in terms of color, growth, and size? i know you said the zoas are smaller and a little more closed up, what about the ricordea, mushrooms, frogspawn, etc?

Rics are just a tiny bit smaller and mushrooms are a bit smaller but everything else is really good. I really think it's just too much light for the zoo's. Or at least more then they where used to.I will try to get some pic's of them. They all look good just smaller then normal.

Yep everything is on the up and up with the lights running at like 30-40% power. Zoos are getting bigger and opening rics are bigger. I lost a green slimmer when I first setup the tank but that was a water issue I think it's been up for like 5 or 6 months but all the coral is about 2 months or less.
