i cut the back part of the rim off. i just put water in it. it works. but the water level is really high. should i trim the overflow a little to let water flow faster?

I just modified this tank. I will try to get pics been really busy lately. I took an old hob filter and put it where the wall separates the tank and back section. That way my water level isn't so high and my pump won't pump all the water outta the back before some more can he back there.( kinda confusing. I'll get pics)

Nov 25 2009, 03:37 PM
Ok but next time......
Black paint and some liverock and coral and it will look just fine.
If you need a new one made I will hook you up again.
We should get rid of the need for that HOB.

Nov 25 2009, 03:40 PM
Yeah. I think I am going to drill my 10g. That ought to be fun.
cdelicath
Nov 25 2009, 04:08 PM
Careful with that.. drilling a AGA 10 is not the best idea. You will have to be careful with it

My uncle works for a glass co. I could get him to so it probably
cdelicath
Nov 25 2009, 04:23 PM
If that's the case you should have him build you one out of 3/16" and have a rimless tank.
Then you wouldn't have to worry about it breaking when you bump it.
mbarton2010
Nov 25 2009, 04:24 PM
Theyre that brittle??
cdelicath
Nov 25 2009, 05:03 PM
Yep
All it takes is a good bump to the return fitting and it will crack.
Just my experience from helping set up a LFS but i'm sure others have done it with no issues.

Nov 25 2009, 05:48 PM
