Andy, ever shoot with an infrared digital SLR? If you have an old body laying around, you should get it converted, I think you'd like using it for B&W landscapes.

I've thought about it - I've got an old Rebel XT laying around, but my brother asked me if he could have it. Since it's so vintage, I may pick up a 20D and convert it though.

I'm too lazy for google right now. What is involved in converting one to IR? Just remove the IR filter from the sensor and use an appropriate IR filter for the lens?

Hah thanks - I shoot with a variety of lenses, all listed below in my signature. I mostly use the 24-70, although I've rented Canon's 17-40 a few times and will probably pick that up soon and retire the 24-70.

Nope, just something like this. Cinched it up as tightly as it would go, then used a few carabiners to take out a little more slack. The strap was barely big enough to fit over my head - hung just below my neck at the perfect angle. Wouldn't do much hardcore riding with it hung like that though.
