Jeremai, did you ever find out what kind of rock it was that you picked up at the construction site? was it limestone?
Had any problems with it?

awesome! I will have to see if I can find any of that around here.
How does the Home Depot sand compare to a reef grade sand asthetically? Do you wish it looked better or different?

it's bright white and super fine, like oolitic sand. if you like that look, it looks great. my nano has fiji pink sand, and I like the look of that better.

ok, don't yell at me for the cobberbanded butterfly, the macrodactyla, the two different species of clowns, or the dendronepthya. the ginger buys everything, and he buys it far too fast and in far too large a quantity. he's just too damn cute to argue with.
also, I think I'll stick to close up shots using this camera. lol. the video is forthcoming.

You have a trigger I am incredibly jealous. They are my favorite fish especially the humahumanukaapuaa (Picasso) trigger fish.
Don't worry about the different types of clowns, a local we tank sit for occasionally has 2 orange occi's, a black occi, and somewierd type that looks sorta like a clarki but is more rare and they seem to get along fine and the biggest orange occi is old enough to spawn. The rare clown has only been in there for the past few months.
Oh and pretty tank.

Mixing skunks and occy's isn't a problem at all. I did it for years. I had one orange occy, one black occy, and a pair of skunks. The different species ignored eachother.
The tank looks great Jer. I like your scape. Cool fish choices too.

Thats good. There's a guy in my reef club who has a copperband and all the other fish steal it's food cause it's too slow. He fashioned a feeding device out of a short section of pvc and a rigid mesh that slides into a groove cut into the side of the pvc. He places a cube of mysis in it and places it on the substrate. Only the copperband can reach in thru the mesh and get the mysis. It works like a charm
