Just picked up my first clam. Anything I should pay extra attention to besides the usual calc supplementation on proper lighting?

things to watch for 1) pryamid snails around mantle edges and foot (check at night after the lights have been off for awhile) 2) gaping (intake siphon stretching to edges of shell) 3) bleaching 4) stretching out (to get more light) 5) reaction to movement (healthy clam should be very reactive to changes in light/shadow) 6) new shell growth (healthy clam should also have white layer of new shell growing)
can't think of anymore offhand but keep an eye on your params
