Full Version: Advice for making a DIY Coral Feeder?
Nano-Reef.com Forums > System Setup > Do It Yourself

Ive been using a turkey baster from the dollar store to feed my corals - but it sucks because its too short, the hole is too big so it shoots out too much, and its not curved so i cant target those awkard places..

Anyways,

Id like to make one out of rigid airline tubing, pipette style's - do you think thats enough for feeding mysis?

Also, what do you call the name for the rubber ball/pump that you attach on top of the tube to squirt out food...sad.gif

If anyone has any suggestions for making a coral feeder that would be appreciated....I got a sun coral and its in the shape of a ball, so its very hard to feed the underside..

Thanks

Syringe (without needle), air line, and rigid airline tubing.

I use a syringe meant for giving small children oral medication. You can get them at any drug store.

I use a turkey baster with some rigid airline tubing shoved into the end - great extension from 6" to 12" longer

What you could do is heat the bottom 1/2 of the rigid tube and slowly bend it without kinking it as a 2nd attachment, that'll work for mouths that are underneath
