My little brother is begging me to get some crabs in my tank. I already have 3 hermits which i regrettably bought. He wants me to get an emerald crab but i heard they will eat your feather dusters, and i have alot of them that i want to keep. WHat i wantto know is what are some completely reef safe crabs?

I really like the pom-pom, anemone and porcelain crabs. Will they kill eachother off? will my hermits eat them?

I have a 34g Cadlight tank. With a pearly jawfish and a yellowtail dwarf angel.

Just get a porcelain crab they are awesome. Also, filter feeders, so reef safe.

Get a pom-pom too. They're also awesome. I'm going to get some too

Also, porcelain crabs are not "true crabs". Some porcelain crabs are anemone crabs. They do need to be fed (not pure scavengers). You could return your hermits. That's what I did with the last two hermits in my tank.

my hermits have been keeping my cyano down though. I would see them eating it all the time when i had it.

all the ones u mentioned are pretty friendly cept for hermits. i hear red legs and scarlets are friendly though.

I have red legged hermits and they are pretty peaceful. Besides climbing over the zoas they don't seem to cause any problems. I'd go for the porcelain crab if you want a completely reef safe crab. It's true though they are not crabs but a species of lobster.

I have a large emerald crab and he is like a peacful incredible hulk in my tank. He has never touched my featherdusters.
