Full Version: Cerith laying huge line of eggs

One of my ceriths is laying this huge line of eggs it just keeps on going its been doing it for 4+ hours so far, they will most likly die or get eaten by emerald crab or herrmits right?? Never had this happen before so not sure what to expect. thx's for any feedback or info on this

My ceriths have been doing this for months (usually every 1-2 weeks). The egg "trail" can be more than a couple of inches. I've never seen any hatch (there are some cerith species that successfully reproduce). Pods will usually eat them.

i have like four 5" eggs strings in my tank right now. I don;t even bother. They will be gone in about 2 days. Fisch, pods and even the other snails will eat them

I think it depends on the tank. When I had ceriths, they would lay eggs and a few weeks later I would have tons of baby ceriths everywhere. Free snails smile.gif
