Full Version: Pistol Shrimp Pair? 2 pistols 1 yasha?
I just bought a pistol/yasha pair. I haven't seen my pistol EVER since I put it in with my old yasha. The yasha died from ammonia poisoning in the bag, since I got it straight out of the truck before my LFS unloaded it. So, will the new pistol shrimp pair up with the old one? They are both candy stripes.

just get a new yasha dont get a whole new pair.

I already got the pistol shrimp with it. I had a yellow watchman for 2 and a half weeks and it never saw the pistol. It was a good deal, so I couldn't pass out on a new pistol
It's unlikely you'll ever see the pistol...but I hear mine all of the time.
Pistols can live in pairs (I've seen some sites offer two pistols and a goby as a group), but I'm not sure you would be able to determine the sex beforehand. Some shrimp are able to change sex, but that may not be the same for pistols.
Not sure about 2 pistols and 1 yashia, but my 2 yashias love their 1 pistol. I added a dottyback not too long ago. Now all four of them hang out in the same holes!

Bump... My LFS has a yasha and pistol pair in, and I'm thinking about getting 2 pistols for my 1 yasha. Anybody had any experience with this?
