you should consider paying for a professional to build a drop in filter for you, such as advanced acrylic. You'd need to get acrylic, cut it to size and glue it. then silicon it on, and add a pump if you want to DIY

I'd do a 4.5g AIO... Do the math on the dimensions so your display is a 3G cube. That would give you a 1.5G and would be pretty balanced IMO.

You will need someone to cut and polish your glass with accuracy.most glass shops won't guarantee breaks to tolerances needed. make sure you ask them for a guarantee.

  • Aquarium safe sealant
  • Acetone
  • paper towels
  • single edge razor blades
  • masking tape
  • 1/4" diameter smoothing tool for corners
  • caulk gun preferably electric
  • more paper towels
  • 1/4" acrylic for false wall
  • Table saw with acrylic blade or have your false wall cut to inside dimensions.
  • router to cut intake slats
  • drill and drill bit to cut jet hole
  • loc-line
  • weld-on to glue baffles
  1. get glass cut
  2. find a clean working area
  3. mock fit all the pieces with masking tape
  4. take them all back to the glass shop because they don't fit together tongue.gif laugh.gif
  5. tape all the inside edges 1/8" to 1/4" in from the edge depending on glass size
  6. start with the bottom and join each piece with sealant between
  7. work faster
  8. work faster
  9. run a bead along the inside edges smooth it and remove the tape from step 5
  10. let it sit for 24 hrs
  11. leak test
  12. build your false wall
  13. insert the false wall
  14. glue the false wall
  15. let it sit for 24 hrs
  16. leak test with running pump for 48 hrs
  17. done
See very easy right?

Not really
Experience is the key here. If you have lot's of time and patience I say go for it. If not buy one and leave it up to the pro's
