first it was a flat worm issue, now i have this red algae ( i think its Chondria) that is growing out of control. i have cut feeding back to once a week for the fish and not coral food at all. i have been on this feeding schedule for about 2 months but the problem still continues. i am running the stock skimmer and one unit of chemipure elite. i also have some cheato in one of the rear chambers with a light cycle opposite that of the display.

the only things i can think of are, bad salt, bad water (using bottled distilled from the store), or the tank is some how making its own. is it possible that the distilled water (bottles say "distilled from steam") is not really distilled?

i cleaned out the back chambers, they were pretty clean already but just in case i vacuumed them out. i also perform weekly 2.5 gallon water changes.

tests are all coming back seemingly normal

nitrate 0
nitrite 0
ammonia 0
PH 8.3
CA 480
ALK ~9

opinions?

fish seem normal and corals are all growing well, even the couple SPS i have are doing well. everyone seems healthy.

opinions, suggestions?

I would not personally see either of these as nutrient issues.

Flatworms usually come in on something, either LR or a frag.
Use Flatworm Exit or a Sixline Wrasse or Yellow Coris Wrasse to eradicate them.

It sounds as if the Chondria came in as a hitchiker too.
If you don't like it and want to get rid of it, I would advise manually removing as much as possible and then getting something that would eat it.
Possibly a Turbo Snail?
I would PM johnmaloney for advice on that one, he's quite knowledgeable in that area.

Truthfully, if it looks like the pics that I googled, I and others might be interested in taking the Chondria off your hands.

tried eXit, doesnt work.
tried a 6-line. he only harassed my clowns and stole food from my acans. i was thinking of a blue velvet nudi.

i was under the impression that flatworms were only a sign of an underling nutrient problem. my algae issue also leads me to believe there is something off.

i got this from reef cleaners, they call it Chondria. its not very pretty, its a red-ish brown stick thing that is growing like a weed completely covering areas.
