I am a poison ivy guru LOL. You get ivy,oak or sumac from the oil from the leafs as you probally know. Once you wash the oil from your hands or where ever you get it the oil is gone. What you see oozing is not oil it is liquid/sweat your body produces to try and fight it off. Poision ivy,oak or sumac irritates your skin and gives you dermatitis. Once the oil is washed from your skin you can't spread it to anyone or anything. But you might want to keep that area out of your tank because when those blisters pop you have open areas for bacteria to grow from your tank.
If it is red and little bumps probally Ivy
If it is red and larger bumps probally Oak
If it is red sometimes pinkish and you get large bumps and knots it is sumac.
I wrote this while taking a break from writing a paper and wasn't with it so thanks for the correction on it not being oil. Its a lot better now(whiskey will dehydrate just about anything..out of ivydry) but before it was weeping pretty heavy. I was concerned about bacteria and me..I get a lot of cuts and usu have one of those bottles of antibacterial alcohol solutions nearby and this wouldn't be any different. I was more concerned with it having any adverse affects on the tank.... urchin knocked over some shrooms and zoas that I still need to pick and right up
