I guess you re right. it looks so like eachother. then it must not be the one from my blue starfish might just brought by some live rock or corals i bought home. Very interesting... lol

Its not. Its most likely a hitchhiker from somewhere. You will either like them or hate them depending on how fast they breed in your tank. They reproduce by fission by the way which means they split themselves to make a new one.

It's an asterina. I have no problems with these little guys. Just watch to make sure they don't get out of hand. Some folks have had them take over their tanks.

Just set up a Biocube and saw two on the rock I bought!

I throw away 50 or so each month... They eat little holes in my coralline algae.

IMO, if that happens, you have other issues. You are clearly providing some sort of massive food source, i.e. you're overfeeding and have algae as a result.

keep in mind that if you get a lot of these there are Harlequin owners that would pay to have these shipped to them.

Hahaha.... +1

I actually got yelled at because I was throwing them away huh.gif ... If someone local to me wanted them though I would save them... I'm not so sure about shipping though.

As for the large numbers of them... They eat algae... Mine seem to enjoy coralline algae, which is plentiful.
