Hi Guys:

I want to buy a new skimmer for my solana 34g. Although the tank is looking good and I feel that the stock skimmer does skim a lot, I read that other skimmers will definitely outperform the stock....sooooo I'd like to see what you guys suggest based on experience.

I'm not really sure I want a HOB. I'd rather an in tank skimmer to take place of the stock skimmer.

I was debating about the sapphire-- any users with experience?

Also, where did you guys (if you did buy a sapphire) get your skimmer? I found a place but they're out of stock and I want to get it ASAP.

I've been reading the forums to gain knowledge, but any input is always appreciated.

Thanks!

Saphire is awesome!! I started my solana back in sept, and bought the saphire because of the noise of the stock. Saphire is QUIET!!! and you just take it out of the box and insert it in the tank and turn it on!!!
works great!!!

Yeah, is it just quieter or is it actually more efficient?

I purchased a Euroreef Nano Skimmer made for my Solana. They will try to do a custom fit for your tank. I had to change a few things, ie drill out the hole in the bottom a little bigger. It is now working great and I can't imagine that another skimmer would pull out more crap from a nano tank than this one.
