I've got a little 3 gallon and a piece of LR with a million nooks and crannies. I would go days without seeing any of my 3 blue leggeds, so I threw in a porcelain crab and now I never see him.

Are there any inverts that don't hide, or is a fish my best bet?

Hermit crabs don't hide for long. Do you not have any snails?

Yes, I do have a snail, he's just not terribly exciting...

I thought I read that hermits and blue leggeds don't get along?

Blue leggeds are hermits, and they may or may not get along as well as any other combo of hermits (I find my reds kill blues as much as reds, and vica versa)

You could get a small shrimp, people like sexy shrimp for those small tanks.

Kinda vague, don't ya think? MANTIS SHRIMP! joking... Don't get that...

The hermits won't hide for long... They'll be out 24/7 at some point.

I had one of these and he was front and center all the time. I even named him 'Clappy' because every time I would go up to the tank he would clap his claws together rapidly smile.gif Oh and he also tried hosting my frogspawn, but was promptly booted by the clown, then ended up hosting my Goniopora.
