I have been battling this same algae in my BC29 for quite some time now, but now have to focus on my BC8.
Livestock: 2 peppermint shrimp
Cleanup Crew: 4 nassarius snails, 3 cerith snails
Treatment: 1 small chemipure elite, 1 biocube filter, Chaeto (cut weekly)
Other: weekly water changes, shortened light schedule, additional pump for increased flow
Firstly, what should I add to my cleanup crew to help get rid of this algae (emerald crab?)?
Secondly, could I add a 100ml bag of purigen to help with filtration?
Also, are there any other ideas/solutions?
Thanks!

Order some snails and hermits from reefcleaners.org. It's so dirt cheap there, and they have a special going on. Look in the Sponsor Specials forum.

Try massive water change first. That's what I did and it went away.

Id say lose the BC filter unless your cleaning it twice a day and get something like a media rack with filter floss to go with your chemipure.. not sure if that will help the algae problem or not but definitely the filtration.

So it sounds liek I need a better CUC and filtration.
Can I add 100ml of Purigen? Would that be ok to do?
