I have a few questions about this wet dry I just got. It is rated for a tank 75 and up and I will be running it on my 29 gallon. It has a hang on overflow box with continous siphon. My idea right now is to use live rock filter floss carbon and chaeto in the area designated for the bioballs. In the other compartment (it is quite large) I plan on having a sand bed, more live rock and macroalgae (I would like this to look like a display refugium). I have a pump rated at 420 gph coming any day now. I was thinking that I could put the pump just under the eggcrate which would be holding the live rock and create a baffle for water to gently overflow water into the refugium. I am thinking this would be a better place to put the pump in order to keep the water flow more gentle in the refugium area. I also figure that I am fairly safe filling the wet dry more then what is recommended since it is rated for a larger aquarium. I don't think I should have any flooding issues. What does everyone think? I am also fine with not using any sand and just having live rock and macroalgae ( I don't want a constant sand storm plugging up the pump.
